I am not in the field as much as I used to be. That means that I have a short reprieve from an emergency lurking behind every corner. Though it is by choice, there is a danger in losing my edge that decades of work have honed so well. What have I been doing? Learning. Not only is the state of managing Apple products in a great state of fluctuation but there are new technologies to learn. Microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and Machine learning.
Not being in larger environments makes it more difficult for to test and learn the engineering behind making the tech work. If I want to try how a new method will effect an existing environment then I’m limited to my testing environment. It’s an example of an unhealthy relationship.
